Oh ok. this is more of a rediscovery than an epihany, but was trawling through some oldish tracks and new old tracks and went..'hold on mate!' thats where you got that from (Duh!!!). Both tracks hold up as real beauties. Firstly, 'From Disco to Disco' by Rthymes Digitales (Thin White Duke, Zoot Woman, Jacques lu Cont) the kinda remake mix 'ish' and then the 'Original' as in vocal sample from 'Disco to Disco' Whirlpool Productions which is a juicy disco excursion into true disconess from, a place close to my heart.. Germany, Did see a comment saying the Whrlpool one was Shite.. Well 'do one' you purist.. Do you actually dance when you party? Hmmm?.....I say 'But No' this is 'Ace' its a laff.. its even takin the piss outta itself as you listen, but you still wanna listen, and whilst on a flight to Koln and puttin it on reee-peat whilst transferin from plane to train and the graffiti and germanic vistas rollin buy I was gee'd up to funk disco n groove to that fair city and party as a Jedi knight (dont ask!). Anyway heres both.

Hope your all well (Not Orwell!) although seeing a bit of that type of future 'scriptaage' (Eygpt, Libya, Tunise) happening as we speak with the world (well the people of) seeing their own potential and en masse deciding they want it need it and deserve it. Well I say more power to!!! Well haven't posted for a while but that does not mean that I don't pay attention... etc... I do,do, other things like shooting photos for books, doing designs for other stuff, doing music for other things.... But I do get grief from ny Aussie cousins (well or cousin... Little Cuz)... and we are at the Ashes again. (best country in the world).

I apologise to my American Pals as its as long winded and confusing as your big baseball series, but we are now in a battle with the Aussies to potentially regain the Ashes (See Google cricket ashes etc). Well here's a massive album. I 'again' shouldn't give it but these things don't arrive on the old T'interweb too much and if you can get it via me then I'm glad you do. Your thoughts wander in the cold blue sky, spring is here... Summer wont be long.

Anyhoo, heres a couple of gems. These feel timely and are just good. An absolute rare as rockin horse shizzle classic from Moodymann - Mahoganny Brown, house funk off beat crackerjack. It just skips you along. Then a Kenlou (Kenny Dope, Louie Vega) remix of The Bucketheads - Got myself together. I think they kinda go well together. This has a nice repetitive funkness with a sharp slapassness sassyness. Not enough of this stuff of late. Think I will be postin more old skool than nu so keep a weather eye.

Well my little Gastronauts (take care Floyd et bon voyage). Heres a treat. As youve all noticed the bandwagon has very definatetly shed a wheel and ground to a halt on the 90's and any talentless whit has gone n defiled old school house of back then.. Fortunately the real gems remain unscathed as these pop pillocks have A: No talent and B: No soul and C: No taste.. Oh and Sh*t producers, and finally £ signs to skank the children into thinkin its new.....

I've dug out this compilation, yes compilation, I dont do this but its a mix essentially and you cant get it anymore (well without great difficulty and expense). Used it for a fashion show for a friend way back when and it went off!.

Its the first of the ministry of sound sessions mixed by Tony Humphries and its a goody.. Break beats, squelchy fat synths, sexy vocals, its got the lot.

Help me.. its 'Soul people' - Tracy Cooper (no relation as spelling is wrong.. lol), my diddly doo days its sooooperb... Its like being back in Paris with our pals Bangalter and Sinclair, Crecy, Play Paul and and and (my ex... mm) ... na its quality repetetive sample up downy inbatweeny jus goooodeey. Its so 1997 (too specific) but absolute quality.

Guys if your out there reading this, make more of your genius. To do this style of house is difficult, and is a talent. It ticks all the boxes. The london inteligency (if theres such a thing) would nod and bop there shizzle to such quality. I do not say these things lightly.

This is a 'Large meal wit fries 'nd sweet n sour sauce' of quality french house. Well Done.. I'm puttin this moffo up in its play outable state..

Do the dudes a favour and buy it.. it beats Miss Cole by a bucket of l'Oreal.. (She so aint worth it pet.. grrrrr) and help to invest, in I dunno, synths n stuff.....

And NASA gettin back in the Race ta Space, I thought I'd pop this little nugget across to ya, coz in space theres a vacuum so you need an Atmosphere... ooooh I here you cry, tenuos and very very poor Mr Reeves...

Tis Metro Area 'Atmosphrique' from 1999, again a 'need to have' as far as French fried frippery goes... You know you'll love it you can't not.. enjoi et bon appetit.

Any hoo, was mulling through trax to put on my phone to listen to on my mountain bike and found my Motorbass par monsieurs Etienne De Crécy and Philippe Zdar et al.. Heres one of them 'Bad Vibes (D- Mix)' , well its my fave so enjoy. Read the reviews, theyre right. Used to play these out way back then, The french were pioneers of a house/ electronic Genre. Look out for ye old compilations called Sourcelab, hunt them down there was more than one. They covered a multitude of frenchness downtempo to uptempo. If you search yee shall find and a deeper journey of the french briliance you will discover, happy hunting....

I will try and transfer as much of my vinyl to mp3 and put up here of the forgotten french classics.

Well peeps, havent had a chat for a while, but heh have been Java'ing Music'ing, Drrink'ing, Think'ing, Live'ing... Stufff'ing.. generally doin other stuff. BUT I have been makin music, Have started to remix a pretty overlooked albumn by our pals Chicken lips 'Making Faces'.. The vocalist (pal o'mine) Jonny Spencer far and above any detritous that has floated to the shores of musical shit of late (and I do have that on good authority as ( reflected)f@@kin Xfactor etc shit) one of the best original voices I've heard, so not being biased cause its natural.. grrrrr.

You know what, am so not gonna do some trite 'I know about music cause I'm DJing so that makes me in touch, and I did coke with Quincy Jones (not infereing that he did or has..etc) and had an in depth conversation about Lonnie Liston Smith..' 'The astronaut stepped onto the Moon's surface, in the Sea of Tranquility, at 0256 GMT, nearly 20 minutes after first opening the hatch on the Eagle landing craft.

Armstrong had earlier reported the lunar module's safe landing at 2017 GMT with the words: "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."

As he put his left foot down first Armstrong declared: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

He described the surface as being like powdered charcoal and the landing craft left a crater about a foot deep.

'We came in peace'

The historic moments were captured on television cameras installed on the Eagle and turned on by Armstrong.

Armstrong spent his first few minutes on the Moon taking photographs and soil samples in case the mission had to be aborted suddenly.

He was joined by colleague Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin at 0315 GMT and the two collected data and performed various exercises - including jumping across the landscape - before planting the Stars and Stripes flag at 0341 GMT.

They also unveiled a plaque bearing President Nixon's signature and an inscription reading: "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon July 1969 AD. We came in peace for all mankind."

After filming their experience with a portable television camera the astronauts received a message from the US President.

President Nixon, in the White House, spoke of the pride of the American people and said: "This certainly has to be the most historic telephone call ever made."

Many other nations - including the UK - sent messages of congratulation.

Moscow Radio announced the news solemnly in its 1030 GMT broadcast.

As Aldrin and Armstrong collected samples, Michael Collins told mission control in Houston he had successfully orbited the Moon in the mother ship Columbia, and take-off was on schedule for 1750 GMT this evening.' (bbc news)

Well best place to put this recipe for staffs oatcakes.

Ingredients

225g fine oatmeal
225g wholewheat or plain flour
1tsp salt
15g yeast
450ml warm milk
450ml warm water 1tsp sugar

Method

Mix the water and milk together.
Mix the salt to the flour and oatmeal in a large bowl.
Dissolve the yeast with a little warm liquid and add the sugar. Allow the mixture to become frothy.
Mix the dry ingredients with the yeast liquid to make a batter adding the remainder of the warm liquid.
Cover the batter with a clean cloth and leave in a warm place for about an hour.
Pour out enough batter on a well-greased griddle to make an oatcake of about 22cm. The surface will be covered in holes as it cooks.
Flip the oatcake after 2-3 minutes when the top side has a dry appearance and the underneath is a golden brown colour and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Well well well, finally got a blog on. All has been a bit hazy and confusing but finally I'm up and running.

Its taken me an age to fix the computer, due to vistas completely backward way of allowing you to not repair it.

Well I'm longing to travel and get my feet on farshores tall peaks and sunnier climbs. From here on in its time to be the person I've always wanted to be. With a little help from my friends.
